The following excerpt of an official letter may be a couple of decades old, but certain mindsets, policies and m.o.’s don’t change. If "Operation Northwoods" could have been dreamed up by the U.S. Military (in the 60s) terrorizing and killing their own citizens, (for the bottom line moneyed interests) then the same can be applied world-wide, by not the United States (that came into birth by the original 13 Colonies), but by the American Terrorist State of a King George.
A letter (stamped "NATO SECRET") from the Supreme Commander of NATO, Gen. Alexander Haig, to NATO's General Secretary, Joseph Luns dated June 26, 1979. Haig writes:
"We will never be able to put into effect our joint plans in this vital area unless quite exceptional efforts are made to check European tendencies toward neutralism, pacifism and unilateralism. We should constantly bear in mind the necessity of continuously directing attention to the Soviet military threat and of further activizing* our collaboration with the mass media. If argument, persuasion and impacting the media fail, we are left with no alternative but to jolt the faint-hearted in Europe through the creation of situations, country by country as deemed necessary, to convince them where their interests lie. This would call for appropriate and effective action of a sensitive nature which we have frequently discussed and I have been greatly encouraged by the absence of disagreement between us regarding priorities."

[*This is an odd word ("activizing"), but, given the contents of the letter, could quite rightly be seen as coming from the word “activism” -- which means “a doctrine or practice that emphasizes vigorous action and esp. the use of force for political ends” -- from Webster’s New ideal Dictionary.

Now, how do we know who’s who in our governments? Simple. Just vote and throw your full weight behind all those good, courageous (few and outstanding) people in power who have:
1. Taken a stand against the bombing of countries (and, most importantly, to show that they are of the human species, can relate to the death and suffering of the many innocents), and
2. Who fight an uncompromising fight against the intrusion of authorities into our freedoms, rights, civil liberties and privacy. Neither are we to have a parallel Act (like the treasonous “Patriot Act” -- read Attack -- on America) that can and does at any time usurp our unbendable democratic Constitutional principles.
The U.S. Senators Byrd and Kennedy are fine examples of the few in their government, at the time of manufactured war, and in the time of standing with your conscience, who, as the true American patriots, voted (one can say in the long view) to preserve the integrity of their Republic against the full dictatorial powers of the President. Also, look to parties who are not yet in power, but carry the same platform and principles that preserve forthright the integrity of the nation’s founding democratic principles (as it includes free speech), and who do not like the idea at all of war-mongering and war. That is the way, at this juncture in time, to weed out The Government behind the government.
