While Bush and Dick are trying to scare up support to build nuclear plants, burn coal, plunder Alaska, and bomb the bejeezus out of countries harboring terrori- err, I mean oil, Dubya has taken measures to insure his own survival through the looming energy crisis.
Bush's new Texas home is an environmentalist's dream:
- fueled by solar
- a 25,000 gallon cistern collects waste water and rainwater for irrigation
- geothermal heating and cooling that uses 25% of the electricity of traditional systems
- water at a constant 67 degrees is piped from 300 feet below ground for cooling in summer and heating in winter
- a water purification system uses recycled housewater to restore native wildflowers and grasses
Dick's VP house is equipped with state-of-the-art energy conservation devices installed by that tree hugging Al Gore.
Both are keenly aware that world oil production peaks within five years - an event promising to thrust our oil drenched economy into a tailspin. Instead of getting us prepared, they have left us hanging out to dry with an Enron energy policy designed to line the pockets of their now bankrupt, corporate contributor.
Clean, renewable energy is good for them, but their energy policy sends a different message to us:
USE MORE NON-RENEWABLE ENERGY!
Our economy will not continue if we don't!
After all, these two oil executives and all of their corporate masters make money off OUR ignorance.
